NEW STUDENT SERVICES: NEW ONLINE SERVICES

From today, Monday 20 October, access to the new version of the Online Services portalwill be gradually released to all students of the polytechnic, affected by an update not only aesthetic, but functional, with the implementation of new services.

The portal, with now minimal white-blue graphics, will have an adaptive interface, which will allow good usability from any device you access: the blocks of functions that make up the portal are now automatically distributed in columns, from 1 to 3 depending on the size of the screen.

As for the services, the news comes from a close partnership with Microsoft:

  • Cloud Storage service via OneDrive for Business
  • 5 Microsoft Office Enterprise licenses

Each student will be allocated **1TB of cloud space**and through the OneDrive for Business service.

Like Google Drive, this new service allows you to edit files online, collaborate while editing, save backup copies, and link files directly.
For Windows desktop devices, a client is installed, which is not yet possible in a Mac OS environment.

As for mobile devices, anapp is already available for the Android, Apple, Blackberry stores. It is native to Windows Phone devices.

Access can be made through the institutional personal email account @mail.polimi.it

As for the productivity tools, each student is granted 5 licenses to install the complete package Office Enterprise 2013 (Windows) and 2011 (Mac OS) in as many different devices.
Do you want to install it in your brother's PC? Canst.

The use of these services is however linked to the student's stay within the Polytechnic world. Once the student will finish all sorts of collaboration with the Polytechnic, he will have 3 months to migrate the data to another service, or locally. The same applies to Office licenses, which will set the software to read-only mode once the 3-month window is closed.

All guides will be sent by email at the time of activation of the service.
