What is the CNSU?

These weeks you will hear a lot about the CNSU (National Council of University Students)… but what is it?

The CNSU is an advisory body of the MUR (Ministry of Universities and Research) that represents students enrolled in degree courses at Italian universities. It is composed of 30 members including:

  • 28 students enrolled on degree courses
  • 1 student enrolled on specialization courses
  • 1 student enrolled on PhD courses

These 28 seats are divided equally between 4 territorial constituencies, each of which elects 7 representatives:

North-West: Piedmont, Lombardy, Liguria

North-East: Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige, Valle d’Aosta, Marche

Centre: Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo

South and Islands: Campania, Puglia, Calabria, Basilicata, Molise, Sicily, Sardinia

Our “Unilab Svoltastudenti” list will present itself in the North-West constituency. The candidates of the national network will be presented on Tuesday 7 May at 19:30 at MIB Milan.
