What is ANVUR?
The Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System (ANVUR) oversees the national public system for assessing the quality of Universities and Research Institutions. It takes care of the external evaluation of the quality of the activities of the Universities and Research Institutions receiving public funding and directs the activities of the Evaluation Units. Finally, it assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of public funding and incentive programmes for research and innovation activities.
What is the CUN?
The National University Council (CUN) is the elective body representing the university system. The CUN formulates opinions and proposals to the Ministry of University and Research, regarding the following subjects:
(a) objectives of university programming;
b) criteria for the use of the rebalancing portion of the ordinary funding fund of universities (F.F.O.);
c) general criteria for the organization of university studies, pursuant to Article 17, paragraph 95, of Law 15/05/1997 n.127;
d) university teaching regulations;
(e) scientific and disciplinary sectors;
f) ministerial decrees referred to in Article 17, paragraph 69, of the aforementioned Law n.127/97;
g) any other matter that the Minister of University and Research considers to submit to the opinion of the CUN.
